I founded Heavy Hitter Custom Baits in October of 2020. This is how I got to where I am today.

My dad brought the love for fishing into my life at a very early age where we would go fish for halibut and striped bass on the San Francisco Bay. When I turned 15 I was introduced to large mouth bass fishing where I absolutely fell in love. I spent every second of my free time on the water and began fishing tournaments for TBF High School, FLW, Basscat opens, and of course local tournaments. Doing so I really got a chance to throw a bunch of jigs from the cheap stuff to the top shelf and I couldn't find one jig I considered perfect.

This led me to do it myself. I bought my first do it mold, vise, and skirting material, and went to town. I spent the next year making my own jigs for personal use and tinkering with every aspect of the jig I could. I got a job at a local tackle shop where I would spend hours of my free-time in there just tying and tying jigs, messing with the colors, and starting to scratch the surface of perfecting the craft. I knew I had something going one day when a customer walked around the entire store, didn't pick one thing off the shelf, and came to the counter. He asked how much for one of those jigs there. We came to a conclusion on a price and without me knowing it that day I made my first sale of many. Customer after customer would come in and shop the store and weather they came in looking for jigs or not they all stopped at the counter and wanted some of these hand tied jigs. I soon later came up with my own name, logo, and website, so I would be able to get these baits in the hands of people all over the US, and Heavy Hitter Custom Baits was born.
